Date Hazelnut Muffins

This recipe yields ~12 muffins
Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk
- 2/3 cup Date Syrup
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (300 g)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
- 1 cup pitted & chopped Khalas Dates (~20 dates)
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted & cooled
Directions:
- Preheat the oven at 375F. and add muffin liners to a muffin tin
- Mix together the milk, date syrup, egg, and vanilla in a bowl
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet until fully incorporated
- Fold in the hazelnuts and dates before adding the melted, cooled butter to the muffin batter. Stir until well mixed
- Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick through the center of the muffin comes out clean
